
If you have devices that send tons and tons of emails, one day you may discover that your relay account has stopped sending emails, inexplicably, with little to no warning. Well, if you haven’t, consider yourself lucky, because I have! SMTP relays are a great way to centralize management of outbound SMTP, especially in environments with tons of devices that need to send outbound emails, whether those emails are scans, or alerts, or anything in between. Have you installed IIS, created a relay account, and set up an SMTP relay, then promptly never checked on the relay again? Ever noticed, that one day, your relay stops sending emails and you’re left bewildered, confused and shell shocked, as your emails are no longer relaying out of your environment?
